Meet Real Y.O.G.A. Founder and Mentor, Aliyyah, located in Snellville, GA. As a middle school teacher, and mom of two, she feels strongly about the impact yoga can have in schools.
She was introduced to yoga as a teenager, and consistently gravitated to the mat throughout life’s milestones. Thus, she felt compelled to pursue her yoga teacher certification during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ultimately, Aliyyah believes that yoga has the potential to help the youth discover who they really are, who they want to be, and how to get there.
Meet Real Y.O.G.A. Instructor, LaPortia, located in Arlington, VA. She’s a middle school teacher with a passion for self-growth and understands the transformational powers that yoga provides.
She began practicing yoga during college when her self-awareness and physical fitness began to intertwine. Since then, she’s relied on yoga to remain rooted through life’s journey, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, which aligned her to seek her yoga teacher certification.
LaPortia believes yoga holds the potential to help youth identify how the physical practice of yoga empowers them in their own mental and social interactions.
Our primary focus at Real Y.O.G.A. is to equip youth with the tools needed to thrive emotionally, socially, and physically. The Real Vision Scholarship was initiated to create rewards for youth who utilize the principles of yoga to inform their decisions and actions toward goals.
With our founders located in Georgia and Virginia, we are seeking to serve schools in the Metro Atlanta and Metro Arlington areas.
